Week 2 Stephanie Kwolek

Stephanie Louise Kwolek (July 31, 1923 – June 18, 2014) was an American chemist. She invented poly-paraphenylene terephthalamide—better known as Kevlar.

She was born in the Pittsburgh suburb of New KensingtonPennsylvania. Kwolek won many awards for her work in polymer chemistry.

Kwolek died in WilmingtonDelaware from a short-illness, aged 90.
