Lesson 6: Monday 8th June
Learning Focus: Calculating angles on a straight line (problem solving)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5_bnmmvDvk ( a little help for one of the questions)
- angles on a straight line total 180 degrees
- angles on a point total 360 degrees
- a right angle is 90degrees
- Click on the video below. Please take a look at this video which talks about angles on a straight line and also goes through some examples. You may skip this step and move directly on to the Powerpoint.
There is no slideshow for this lesson. Use what you have learnt over the previous week to solve the three problems. Remember to show all your working out. Below are some tips:
1- Remember a prime number is a number that can only be divided by 1 and itself. Use this information to find the angles on the line, you may want to list the prime numbers first.
2 and 3 Remember angles in a line add up to 180
Create a right angle muncher as pictures below. Use your creation to find acute and obtuse angles around your home. Remember the muncher can eat an acute angle but an obtuse wouldn't fit in his mouth!
