MATHS WORK SET FOR FRIDAY 1ST MAY 2020
REPEATING PATTERNS
What Are Repeating Patterns?
Repeating patterns teach children to predict what comes next based on what has happened before. Each pattern has a set of repeated elements. For example, in a two step pattern there are two elements that repeat. In a three step pattern there are three elements that repeat.

Encourage your child to talk about the patterns and ask them questions about different repeating patterns. What objects, colours or shapes can they see? What will be the next object, colour or shape if you carry on the pattern? Encourage them to make their own repeating patterns using lego blocks, shapes or objects.
