DAY 4. THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2020

MATHS WORK SET FOR THURSDAY 30TH APRIL 2020

MEASURING LENGTH AND HEIGHT USING NON-STANDARD UNITS

Non-standard units are any item that can be used to measure something e.g. paper clips, hand spans, cubes, lego blocks, finger spaces, feet, pasta pieces, sweets, straws etc.

When using non-standard units of measure, you have to line up the objects you are using to measure, from the beginning of the object to the end of it.  For example starting the measurement unit before the object or having gaps or overlays is not the correct way to measure an object.  You must also use the same unit of measure to measure an object.
