  • Y3 York Chocolate Story

    Our trip to York’s Chocolate Story

    Year 3 had the magnificent opportunity to learn about the history of chocolate at York’s Chocolate Story. We went back time to discover the origin of chocolate and how it was founded by the Aztec people. They valued the cocoa bean and formed a basic drink that tasted very bitter at first. We learned how it changed from 1800 onwards where milk and sugar were added to create the most famous brands like Aero, Kit Kat and Terry’s chocolate orange! As well using our 5 senses to judge ‘good quality’ chocolate, we watched professional chocolatiers make chocolate moulds with a delicious passion fruit flavour inside. We even got to make our very own chocolate lollipops with different toppings! Take a look at the photos to see what we’ve been up to.

  • Hamlet Workshop Y6

    As part of our topic in English this term, Year 6 are looking at Hamlet and the format of Shakespeare’s play scripts. On Monday 13th January, Year 6 children were fortunate enough to watch a performance of Hamlet, and many had the chance to play main roles . The children were able to dress up as these characters and perform for their classmates. The children thoroughly enjoyed this activity and have also memorised many key events.
