YR visit Hyrstlands Park

On Wednesday, 28th November, the Reception  children set off on an adventure to discover the signs of autumn.

This half term’s trip was to Hyrstlands Park, the children walked up to the park with one goal in mind: to find as many signs of autumn as they could.

The children had been learning about the current season throughout the half-term and were excited when they had the opportunity to investigate and discover the world around them. Though many of the children had been to this park before, it was as if they were seeing it through a new set of eyes. The children had a check list of things they could find and were very keen in using newly acquired language such as ‘bare’ to describe the trees. The children collected souvenirs to bring back to school such as conkers, which they used for counting and leaves to create autumn pictures.
