Y2 Visit Batley Town
In relation to their ‘Street Detectives’ Creative Curriculum topic, the Year 2 children visited Batley library on Friday 23rd March 2018. On the walk from school to the town centre, the children explored the modern day streets, residential areas and various buildings.
At Batley Library, the librarian shared a range of images from many years ago. The children made comparisons from the 18th and 19th century to the 21st century. The change surprised many children as they discovered how famous Batley was for its mills, the rapid change in its population and the increase in residential areas.
