Spelling Bee
During the last half term, the children of Warwick Road Primary School participated in the first spelling bee of the year. Five children in each year group had been provided with a list of difficult spellings to learn two weeks prior to the event. The children competed in two assembly groups: Years 1 to 3 and Years 4 – 6.
The spelling bee was a resounding success: children in Years 5 and 6, in particular, wowed staff and their fellow classmates with how well they had been practising.
Winners!
Years 1 – 3:
Safa Hussain, from Class Capella, rightly claimed victory. She astounded both staff and students with her commitment and dedication to learning the spellings assigned – Well done Safa!
Years 4 – 6:
Abdullah Mohammad, from Class Cygnus, ultimately triumphed when he correctly spelled the tricky word ‘thorough’ – well done Abdullah!
