Year 2 Abbey House Musuem

On the 15th March Year 2 visited Abbey House Museum, as part of their Street Detectives topic. Children stepped back in time and wandered through the enchanting streets, shops and houses as they experienced life as a Victorian. Some children had the opportunity to dress-up and discover what life was like for a Victorian child and how our streets, houses and homes have changed.

They had the opportunity to explore Stephen Harding Gate, the 19th century equivalent of a modern high street. In the back streets, they saw homes of the window washer woman and visited the Sunday-School.   They experienced 19th Century houses and homes and made comparisons with modern day life.
