Adverse Weather

In Case of Snow

Each day of any severe weather, the headteacher will make an assessment about whether it is safe and practical to open the school to pupils. This decision will be made early in the morning, with enough time to inform you if we are closed.

Information will be available for you via the following methods:

TEXT MESSAGE:   We will try to contact you by text if the school is to close for your child, although we cannot guarantee 100% that you will receive a message. Please ensure at all times that we have your up to date details to contact you on.

COUNCIL WEBSITE:  Should you wish to check reports of closure, you can do so by visiting the council website www.kirklees.gov.uk/schoolclosures where you will find up-to-date information or follow them at twitter.com/kirkleesschools.

SCHOOL WEBSITE:  You can also check reports of closure on the school website www.warwickroad.kirklees.sch.uk.

LOCAL RADIO/TV STATIONS: Closure information will also be shared with the local radio and TV stations for them to use as they wish in their bulletins.

If you do not hear anything from us, the school will be open.

Please be assured that the headteacher will only decide to close our school in exceptional circumstances where the safety of your children and staff is the primary concern. On occasions this may be due to the availability of teaching staff who travel some distance to reach school, rather than purely conditions for pupils getting to school.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
